Reconcile custody with the item actually returned
Record the asset identifier, issue time, recipient reference, expected return and observed condition. Radios, keys and other items need separate identifiers even when issued as a kit. Keep missing, damaged and unavailable stock distinct from ready-to-issue inventory. Exclude passwords, alarm codes and sensitive key-location mappings. Inspection intervals and safe-use requirements must come from authorized instructions.
Does a signed issue row prove equipment is serviceable?
No. Custody and condition answer different questions. Carry out the required inspection, record the real result and follow your approved procedure for withdrawing an unsafe item.
